Getting Ready for MCAS
We've been hard at work preparing for the MCAS in a few weeks. We looked at the grading rubric that the MCAS graders use to score essays. Then, we compared several essays from past students, looking for the writing traits that the MCAS graders look for, and graded the essays. Here we are highlighting, debating, and discussing the essays as a class.

Potluck Party
We did it!
As a class, kids are encouraged to read chapter books during any down time in school. Our library books are leveled, and each book is given a point value in the Accelerated Reader program. Most books are worth 1-4 points. As a class, we read 100 points worth of books.
Parents, thank you so much for your support in our Potluck Party! We had a fabulous fruit plate, empanadas, kielbasa, grilled chicken, Amish friendship bread, chips and salsa, and several yummy kinds of juice!
It was a wonderful atmosphere. All of the specialists came to celebrate (and eat, haha) with us! Everyone had a great time and we're looking forward to reading our next 100 AR points!
