Pros and Cons Job Essays

A few weeks ago, we read a story called How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long.  In the story, the narrator describes the pros and cons of being a pirate.  We dissected the text structure, then chose jobs.  Each child made lists of the positive and negative aspects of the job, then wrote a paragraph about each.  There are some pretty funny gems hidden in here if you read through them!
